What it is
proxycheck.io is a proxy and VPN detection service used by websites and games to turn away anonymised or abusive visitors.
Its risk score is calculated live. Every detection type starts from a base score — hosting about 33, VPN 50, scraper and Tor 75, proxy and compromised server 100 — and recent attacks from the address weigh heavily on top.

How to read the result
- 0–33
- Low risk.
- 34–66
- Elevated: a VPN, hosting range or some attack history.
- 67–100
- Very dangerous: an open proxy, a compromised server or heavy recent attacks.
Colours on this site: green below 30, yellow 30–59, red from 60.
Limits
- A fresh residential proxy or VPN exit can go undetected for a while.
- We use the free API with a daily query limit. When the limit is used up the card shows “Unavailable”.
